I wonder why, hypothetically speaking, someone diagnosed with a terminal disease doesn’t spend his final days taking care of people like Deputy Alejandro Gomez.

After resisting, the animal-loving deputy finally relented when Gomez threatened him with a stun gun. Video showed the light of the gun, indicating a target, illuminating the side of the law enforcement officer.
That is inexcusable.

Why were these police pulled over and dealing with this rabbit? If this is a wild rabbit how did they catch it? And why would he threaten a fellow officer? Is this sort of thing what they do with their time?

The fact that the one deputy made the other promise he wouldn’t kill it, suggests he had some reason to believe the other deputy would kill it. To me, this suggests he’s done this kind of behavior before. I wouldn’t automatically assume someone who asked to hold a baby rabbit is going to kill it.

Lack of compassion and sadism is...a prerequisite to be able to even do the job. That is a cynical attitude. Even the report says that this one guy was surrounded by other non-participating cops one of whom was an animal lover.
I work with and around cops a lot and the rule is they are compassionate and reasonable. The bad cops are the exception.
Don't judge the whole by certain exceptions.
