So they don't waste missiles on cheap drones, the gunner may use a shotgun.

Apparently the crew of two consists of a pilot and a gunner (armed with a shotgun in the back seat). The Yak is maneuverable enough for the pilot to get close to the drone and let the gunner shoot at it.
