“Russia’s concerns regarding Ukraine could have been fixed without war.”

They spent a solid year, trying to negotiate. We flipped them the finger. They tried right up to the last minute. We adamantly told them we would do as we pleased, and that what we do in Ukraine is none of their business (in a national security sense) And then of course, Merkel said Minsk II was a lie, a ploy to buy time to strengthen the Uke army.

We literally told them we would only discuss with them what WE deemed relevant.

We had a national policy of building up the nazi-lead forces in Ukraine, bring them into NATO, and Ukraine taking Crimea.
We refused to acknowledge that Sevastopol was a Russian Navy base since the 1780s, and sailed insultingly 3 miles off the coast...claiming that Ukraine gave us permission.
And then last, often discussed was our policy of deposing Putin in a color revolution. In the year before the war, we tried one in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.

We are the ones that were impossible to negotiate with. We are hell bent on expanding NATO into completely surrounding Russia, overthrowing their leader, and installing a western friendly leader so we could plunder again, like in the 90s.

There was no negotiation possible unless we decided to knock it off.

“They’d have to be crazy to launch at the West!”

Are we crazy for launching at them? Or attacking a nuclear sub base, and three or four strategic bomber bases and two train attacks that same day?

Imagine if a USN sub base, three US nuclear bomber bases, an Amtrak train and a freight train were attacked by Russia or their proxy in one day. We would attack very hard. Yours is an example of a very dangerous idea floating around DC and London these days, that anyone would have to be crazy to attack us, no matter what we do to them.

That is how you don’t see it coming.

“I’m at a point in life that I no longer give in to nuclear blackmail.”

Good for you. That’s a great way to think, as long as you do not think it’s license to keep attacking inside Russia. Russia isn’t as strong as we are conventionally, nor as good at war (since they don’t have three solid decades of constant practice like us).

So maybe think of an old man, who can’t win a fistfight against a younger more fit man. But the old guy has a 38 in his pocket and you know it. You keep chest bumping him, kinda slapping him around lightly, humiliating him etc. He warns you that he has a 38 and he’s not afraid to use it.
That’s where we are.... you laugh and keep up with the shoving, because YOU know you don’t plan to kill him, you’re just shoving him around... and he wouldn’t dare. And YOU don’t give into blackmail and threats.

Will Russia ever believe now that Trump is not who Biden was?
