Russia has been spending oodles of money on becoming self-suffient..from increasing their manufacturing base to huge impressive farmlands etc. Otherwise they've made agreements with other nations to acquire what they don't have for several years now....so not sure sanctions will hurt them much.

The new 100% tariff is on China, India and Brazil, not just Russia.

Trump said he would tariff the nations that buy Russian fuel (and more).
Thus: China and India, Hungary (and the BRICS nations) would be severely hit by that policy. They buy a lot of oil from Russia at a very reduced price at the moment.

We would apply the tariffs to those buying from Russia.
So, when China buys oil from Russia, they get slapped with a 100% tariff.
Same with India.
That would leave a mark.

Secondary tariffs on oil from Russia to China and India.
