Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to publicly respond to the 50-day ultimatum President Donald Trump issued him, though one top official on Tuesday suggested that Moscow "didn’t care."
Deputy Chair of Russia’s security council and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev took to X to express the Kremlin’s first reaction to the joint announcement by Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that Putin has 50 days to end its war in Ukraine or face 100% tariffs.

Cool story. Then maybe the geniuses running the Russia project should quit saying they need the cease-fire so they can focus on how to better position to go after China.
A lot of the world plays chess, not checkers.
Sadly, Trump is going to inherit a foreign policy defeat pre-ordained and created by Bush, Obama, Hillary Clinton and FJB.
He’s trying to avoid it, but he’s only getting more stuck to it.
When someone takes the time to say I don’t care, they care.

I agree, he is getting stuck in it. Sometimes, we need good people to get stuck into things to fix what bad people broke. Maybe Trump is the right guy to fix it.
Only 50 days huh?
The Chinese play Go which is way way more difficult then chess
Trump has had his own focus on Ukraine
In his first term Trump ended the ban on selling weapons to Ukraine, President Trump also had troops in Ukraine training them to fight the Russians, and President Trump also moved our troops forward from Germany to Poland while pulling us out of the INF treaty and pumping money into our nuclear weapons and missiles in Europe to defend against Russian aggression.
FWIW
I cut the cable and don’t get a cable news network.
So if I want to get a whiff of national news coverage, I go to Sling Freestream.
I watched of bit of some BBC news channel yesterday and it had an “expert” who was a former, former analyst of something.
I thought he made some sense for no other reason than his view coincided with mine.
But he didn’t think the “sanctions” that were threatened would be all that effective or even easily enforceable for that matter.
He firmly said that Russia would not agree to a cease fire unless real terms were first put on the table and discussed.
Those being that Russian would never agree to Ukraine membership in NATO and never agree to having NATO peacekeepers on Ukrainian soil.
Made sense to me.
It’s a miracle when the BBC presents a sensible viewpoint, must have been a mistake
