Lack of culpability for SIN due to mental incompetence should not be treated as a lack of culpability for a CRIME.

Even if this...deranged individual is not MORALLY culpable, he is still capable of harming the common good of society through his own criminal actions.

Locking him up to keep him away from civilians is what would be JUST.

And honestly, jail time isn’t always just about *punishment* (or retaliation) as the left likes to paint it.

It’s also very much about protecting society as a whole.

God’s laws about many crimes were much stricter. And honestly, I find His laws about theft and damage to property to be very reasonable. Replace what you broke or destroyed and if you stole from someone, pay them back 4 times.

And even if the person *can’t afford it* there has to be SOME way of making an acceptable restitution. But letting it go is not a good option and was never a just decision because it then further victimizes the victim. That is NOT justice.
