Vernon is a pretty remarkable place, er, town. I am not sure there are any houses there, it’s all meat packing plants, battery recyclers, metal finishing, lightish manufacturing...mostly from the 30’s, 40’s. It’s kind of spooky actually.

I believe they have a walk-thru periodic table of the elements there.

There are still the rendering plants that stink to high hell, but at least Farmer John’s slaughter house is gone.

I once did work out in Vernon and there were two things that really caught your attention, at least where I was, the stank of the rendering plants and Farmer Johns on hog slaughtering days, and when Vernon fired up their massive diesel generators right across the street, the gound was heavy with vibrations.
