But once the owner makes it clear you’re not wanted, it’s your duty to get off the property, and fast, without fooling around.

Public servants doing "knock and talk" searches with their foot in your door don't seem to understand this ...

These no-warrant incidents are among the worst police abuses. And heaven help the homeowner who tries to shut the door to his own house. He WILL go to jail for assault on a police officer.

Moral of the story: No warrant = don’t open the door. Be polite. Talk through an open window, or whatever. But don’t open the door.

And it’s a damn shame we’ve been put in that position.

He WILL go to jail for assault on a police officer.

That's a huge problem. In reality, the homeowner is not "assaulting a police officer" or assaulting anyone else. He is employing minimum force to defend against an armed, defiant trespasser. The "officer" with his foot in the door is committing a first degree misdemeanor in many States.

Crimes committed by public servants need to be prosecuted and punished more severely than similar crimes committed by private citizens. We give our servants enormous power; they need to be held accountable when the abuse the powers entrusted to them.

No warrant = don’t open the door.

Indeed. If you must talk to them at all (through a closed door or an intercom), simply instruct them to leave and inform them that they are trespassing.

Don’t open the door. Ignore him.

Cop should have followed this advice too.

___Don’t open the door. Ignore him.

There’s a very good chance that cop’s career is over. It’s already on the news there and Sean has his lawyer all over it. And it’s going to expose more corruption due to how they conspired against Sean in trumping up the charges. These cops and the system look out for each other.

The boot lickers here on FR are going to be depressed when they find out. Over 20,000 comments on youtube pretty much all livid at the cop. Most of the comments here seem to favor the cop.

Maybe the Freeper isn’t as smart as we thought they were. Just a bunch of boot licking wanna be tough guys who can’t even watch a video and make an honest and obvious judgement on who the insane unhinged out of control party is.....amazing.

“No law against a cop spitting on someone’s face. If you spit in his face...it’s against the law....because he’s a cop.”

Correct. He was stating law.

He did not say it was OK as you claimed.

How absurd. By implication is saying it’s ok. It’s the law....so it’s ok for cops to spit in our face..but not in theirs. No arrest for the cops, no charges. And he’s ok with that. You boot lickers are as insane as the cop.

the police have had several chances to reign in the clown cop but didn't, now it has escalated and the ridiculous charges of voyeurism etc against Sean have exposed the injustice and corruption of some police officers/departments..as you noted. That is worse than what the clown cop did...obviously the officer cannot control his temper and has no business being a cop. Look at previous incidents. I suspect the whole department overtime issue will now be looked at, and a federal investigation of conspiracy to violate civil rights should be looked into by the feds...and cops wonder why the hate? a few bad apples can spoil the whole bunch if you don't take them out of the bunch.

What really amazes me, first amendment auditors have been around for 5 years or more and many police officers are still ignorant or just plain ignore the law when it comes to demanding identification, and what is the catchall disturbing the peace, loitering, trespassing, etc. just google first amendment audit and see how many of the same scenarios pop up. Don't get me wrong, there are many auditors I don't like nor their tactics cussing yelling etc are wrong IMO and are not helping their cause IMO. look at some of the calmer ones, Jeff Gray, Travis Heinz to name a couple(a real piece of work) Most every department needs training in arrest and search and seizure, retaliation, soliciting a trespass, etc, and the auditors will be out of a job, but after 5 years of auditing that hasn't happened almost daily there are more videos of police unlawfully demanding people identify themselves, and police showing their ignorance or disregard of the Constitutional laws and letting their egos have them make costly mistakes.

Oh yeah.....it’s just beginning. The cop’s career is over and he may go to jail. He’ll be sued. Sean sues and doesn’t hesitate. He has a good attorney.

And more will all too. This whole department appears corrupt.

But what amazes me is how many boot lickers are here on FR who actually defended that insane maniac timebomb who can’t control his temper. I guess boot lickers here on FR are wanna be tough guys like this cop is.

Virtually the entire world recognized this bad cop. And yet for awhile, here.....most defended him. How bizarre....I thought FR had mostly rationale reasonable people. Glad to see some did come out though.

Thanks.
