“Failures.”
The report sounds like a cover up to me.

If only inept parties would suffer consequences for these grave mistakes.

I guess firings (hopefully, without any benefits) are the consequence.

Firing squads would be more appropriate.

What happened was inexcusable and the consequences imposed for the failures so far do not reflect the severity of the situation.

Exactly!

In government circles of twisted logic, failure is that which delivers the most increase in funding with the lowest expectations.

Failure = success

Success = Failure

Therefore, success must never be achieved.

There was no failure this was a deliberate attempt at murdering a presidential candidate. If you saw the videos at the time then you know it.

Must admit I haven't read this report, I rarely comment without reading first but in this case....

I understand this report is only about the Secret Service, but I don't think they acted alone.

Does this or any other account deal with the audio analysis that figured 8 gun shots, some distinctly different sounding, but nevertheless Crooks is said to have fired 8 times in most media accounts I've seen. How exactly did the SS sniper kill the guy without shooting a shot? Who do you suppose is coordinating the gunshot narrative while ignoring clumsy facts a child could pick up on? A year on and the amount of repetition on 8 shots seems like it's now part of the official history of the event.

How exactly did Crooks drive two different vehicles to the venue? If he dropped one off to go get the other, how did he travel from one to the other? And who was he talking to on his cell phone moments before the attack?

These are just a couple of issues off the top of my head that appear destined to evaporate into the ether of a government cover up that 50 years from now will probably still be too sensitive for public disclosure.

failures and negligence

No, an intentional play at assassination.

The SS suspensions are a joke.

They can’t hire qualified agents and have lowered standards. Maybe it’s time to outsource SS to someone like Blackwater. Cost be damned, we need competence and professionalism.

“The report sounds like a cover up to me.”

They cleaned up the site quickly and cremated the dude. Hell, they probably flushed his ashes.

No mention of the obvious DEI hires taking cover behind Trump when they were supposed to shield him.

The Biden administration made sure their main political opponent had a minimal protection for plausible deniability.

They kept their fingers crossed that an attempt would be made and succeed.

The FBI took the cue gave it a nudge.

“There was no failure this was a deliberate attempt at murdering a presidential candidate.”

Those “failures” would serve, in a court of law, as sufficient circumstantial evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to prove attempted murder.

“And who would the the defendant(s) be?”

For starters, the Secret Service, then branch out.

Murder charges are against individuals, so which SS agent(s) do you think could be convicted of murder?
