The Vice President is a Catholic. The LGBTQ agenda promoted by Disney for years and the “woke” character of recent Disney movies, e.g., the recent release of Snow White, are antithetical to Christian values. Conservative Catholic groups have supported boycotting Disney and its products. Considering that this Administration needs the enthusiastic support of traditional Catholics and conservative Christians in general, VP Vance and his family visiting this camp of the enemy sends a wrong image and message. Southern California has other attractions not related to the enemy territory of Hollywood where the Vances can have recreation.

It’ll cost you to enjoy the CA climate, too.

Our kids who live in the Bay Area visited last week. They can’t get over how affordable things are in the Midwest. Our home is 1/4 of the cost of theirs, we have 3 times the size of their house, AND we live on 1-2/3 acres instead of their 1/16 acre.

Who can forget the hour+ long wait in line for the Matterhorn?

It was SO worth it!

Definitely worth the price of the E ticket :-)

There’s so many opportunities to see them go off, as they have a very low triggering threshold

My relatives in El Paso said that the usual, daily El Paso back to Juarez traffic has definitely slowed down.

I don’t know what the lefties expect. He already met with flood victims in Texas. What was he supposed to do, just stay there? He has a family.

The great thing was that you could get a ticket book for several members of the family, and then purchase single ride “E” tickets so that the whole family could go on those rides together.

I don’t know how many times I rode Dumbo and the Teacups, while my older siblings did everything else. We had a large age spread from oldest to youngest (12 years), so the older kids had plenty of fun, just the same as us younger kids did.

been over 40 years since I went to DL there. Just parking was a maze and fun trying to find your car later.

They have a parking garage now. All you need to remember is the level and row/section. Easy-peasy.

Far too crowded and the rides I remembered as a kid were long gone.

Time marches on. Do you miss Zoot-Suits, too? (Just kidding.)

Like all public attractions, Disneyland has their off-season. Go there at that time and it's very uncrowded. One time, my daughters rode the Matterhorn seven times within 30 minutes. Ride the ride, get off, run around the chateau and into the entrance and right back into a bobsled.

You can even walk into the Blue Bijou without a reservation. One time, our family and friends were one of three tables in the restaurant.

The last time I was there, we were able to walk right up to the front door of the Haunted Mansion as if we were visiting a friend, go in, get on the elevator and start the ride.

Ditto for Indiana Jones, Pirates, Space Mountain, etc.

Bingo.

J.D. Vance has no business visiting Molesterland / Groomerland.

I went through boot camp in Orlando, FL in July and August. The floors in the buildings were sweating from condensation. Storms every afternoon with lightning from hell. Then, at the end, a hurricane came by to make it interesting.

I’m old enough to remember those ticket books. The E tickets, of course, were always the best. I have happy memories of Disneyland. Now going on the rides is more complicated with using your smart phone, and the admission is certainly more expensive.

Vance has every right to take his family to Disneyland. That County Supervisor is an idiot.

Besides, you really can’t equal the original Disneyland, just off W. Katella Ave. where Walt started it all back when many of us were kids. A magical place for sure.

I am amazed at how tone deaf the Trump Administration has become. They came into office with a coalition of MAGA supporters wanting to see real change in the Federal government and not the usual musical chairs game along with Christian conservatives who want a restoration of traditional values. Today Trump doubled down against skeptics of the "Epstein killed himself and the multiple terabytes of video were dark web kiddie porn" narrative, Patel channels his inner Walter Cronkite and called the opponents of the story conspiracy theorists, and Vance decides to entertain his family in the heart of enemy territory, Disneyland.

People called the Biden Administration Obama's third term. I fear that the second Trump Administration will be a third GWB term, some good economic policy but the Swamp remaining fetid and undrained.

IIRC, all the good stuff was E ticket.

No idea what “it’s a small world “ was, but the ride was execrable. GF wanted to ride the thing.

Pirates was fun,but I heard they took down the fat braod chasing a pirate down.....

jungle cruise not so much fun other than the guide shooting the hippo.
Long been canceled as too violent no doubt.
