Your points are well made, perhaps destroyed is the wrong word, but being dismantled maybe a better word. I can see the Russian federation as it now stands ceasing to exist. Cracks are already showing.
Regions that have been neglected, used and abused to suppprt western Russia are starting to make noise.
There is a reason that “internal security” is on par with military spending. FSB now back to full blown KGB with their own prison system and outside the legal apparatus.
What probably always existed to some extent is now fully out in the open.

A former army officer who spent a lot of his career prepping to counter a Soviet attack on Western Europe, used the expression that Putin has “hollowed out” Russia.
He was referring to the lack of leaders throughout society because Putin had them all castrated or eliminated.
However, I do believe he has the support of most Russians. They aren’t used to freedom, and he’s doing a good job with war propaganda.
