Your Napolean comment does raise an issue: Why should tolerance of these blatantly false claims about one’s identity be limited to gender? Why can’t someone claim to be Napoleon or Jesus or the editor of the New York Times and not expect that claim to be respected? Isn’t that delusion discrimination?

Good question. All other such false claims are laughed at, or at a minimum ignored.
But these false gender claims are ALWAYS taken at face value. And these claims are worse than my Napoleon claim. Because my claim harms no one.
But these false gender claims are harming real females. In sports, in school locker rooms, etc.
