When my garbage backs up, I take a little time off and take it to the dump myself. $15-20 in most locales. Backcharge the trash company for fuel and dump fees.

If I were mayor, I’d tell them to pick up their own damn trash and take it to the dump. The days of a babysitting government are over.

"what do I do with my garbage now?"

Drop it off at Mayor Cherelle Parker's home. The more the merrier.

Not Philadelphia but NYC for Neil Simon’s The Out of Towners (Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis, 1970):
“The city’s subway and bus drivers, taxicab drivers, and sanitation workers are all on strike. Making their way the eight long city blocks to the Waldorf-Astoria on foot past tons of garbage in a torrential downpour, they discover upon arrival at the hotel their reservation, guaranteed,...—has been given away, and the hotel, like every other one in the city, is booked to capacity due to the strikes.”

At our house where we lived for over four decades, I had a Ford F-250 and six garbage cans. I loaded them, filled the rest of the back with recycles, and went to the dump.

“When will Philadelphia trash pickup resume after strike deal reached, and what do I do with my garbage now?”

Maybe stop voting for the UNION LOVING Democrats and you won’t have to put up with this crap.

Burn it and spread the ashes over subsequent garbage pickups over time.

I would put my pick up and car trailer with sides to work. I can carry 18 roll carts at $20 a cart and probably make three loads a day to the dump. That is $1080 a day minus fuel and dump fees. Fuel would probably be $100-$150 a day and dump fees about $150 a day. So $700 a day average. $3500 for five days. $4900 if I worked seven days. If it lasted a month that would be around $19,600 for a months work.

In NYC you just box it up and wrap it with gift wrap. Leave it on the sidewalk ... it will be gone in minutes.

Dude, load it in your vehicle and take it to the dump, it’s not that hard, sheesh.

I’m confused... Trash pickup is resuming, so people don’t know what to do with their trash now? Why would you not just leave it on your curb..?
