Closing due to rampant Crime. As Baretta said......don't do the crime if you can't do that time....don't do it. No. Going back to Cali? I don't think so.

They had their day in the sun. It is now time to turn it into a vape shop or payday loan place.

Old school joint with dark wood panel walls, long bar with stools. kind of more like a steak / chop house. The photo’s (never been there) look kind of like the well known Smokehouse in Burbank where I have been many times back when my Grandmother was still alive (1980 -1990’s)

Very sad, frankly I had not heard of the place in all 60+ years all in So Cal.

IIRC, they’re near Union Station, Olvera Street and Chinatown, prime tourist locations in the past. If there’s “rampant crime” there, the city is truly done for. Thanks, as usual, to the “progressive” Democrats.

Hey Lauren Taylor you idiot writer, the term is "wreak havoc" not "WRECK havoc".

Also, FORCING RETAIL BUSINESSES OUT OF BUSINESS is the GOAL of Communists such as Karen Bass. SHE (and her NY Commie friend Zohran Mamcommie) seek to SEIZE ALL MEANS OF PRODUCTION so they can RATION products equally among the masses and to DENY products to those who don't BEHAVE PROPERLY.

Allowing the street thugs to TERRORIZE CITIZENS AND BUSINESSES IS 100% INTENTIONAL and a means to an end for the purpose of transitioning to COMMUNISM.

Figures the British dunces don’t know that it was Phillipe’s which invented the French Dip sandwich.

Be aware you generally don’t see the LA homeless.

They stay in their tents or under their tarps most of the time. These are either on the south side of the street or under shade tree or commercial building overhangs.

The LA commercial districts are struggling.

The fast-food restaurants in California post that they accept EBT.

Why commit crime when the State of California will steal on your behalf?

WIKI

A French dip sandwich, also known as a beef dip, is a hot sandwich consisting of thinly sliced roast beef (or, sometimes, other meats) on a “French roll” or baguette.

It is usually served plain but a popular variation is to top with Swiss cheese, onions, and a dipping container of beef broth produced from the cooking process (termed au jus, “with juice”). Beef stock, a light beef gravy, or beef consommé is sometimes substituted. The sandwich is most commonly served with a cup on the side of the plate, into which the sandwich is dipped as it is eaten.

Two Los Angeles restaurants have claimed to be the birthplace of the French dip sandwich: Cole’s Pacific Electric Buffet and Philippe the Original. Philippe’s website describes the dish as a “specialty of the house”, and the words “Home of the Original French Dip Sandwich” are present in the restaurant’s logo. At Phillippe’s, the roll is dipped in the hot beef juices before the sandwich is assembled, and is served “wet”, while at Cole’s it is served with a side of beef juices.
