PING
Really like Suchet’s cadence and rhythm.
And re: the sort of flagship voice to audiobibles — I had dinner with Max McLean and a few others upon a CS Lewis event. :)
Why does one need another to read the Bible for him?
And he’s the only true Poirot!
I would rather listen to Max McLean read the KJV than anyone reading the NIV (Newer Incomplete Version).
“Why does one need another to read the Bible for him?”
I listened to the entire recording of David Suchet reading the Bible on Audible. I’m not sure I could ever have read it myself. So, to me it was quite helpful.
And he really does a perfect job. Can’t imagine how long it took to complete.
Thank you for pinging me!
Thanks!
If you’re sick and lying in bed, feeling down or feeling overwhelmed by things going on in life, to hear The Word of God read not just to you, but actually over you (as The Bible Is Living and Alive), and you can either follow along in your Bible or just listen, it Heals you. It Delivers you. It Strengthens you. The Word—
JESUS, tells you, you’re not alone. I’m right here with you. I’ll never leave you or forsake you. Everything in My Word is TRUTH, and I never change.
“So faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
Amen!
Example would be: you’re in the car, driving in traffic…
Right On Patriot 777!
That is an excellent idea!
Now if I could figure out how to do that....
I very much enjoy David Suchet’s Narration of the Bible. I do own an Audible copy of his work, but I prefer to listen to him on youtube - I find it easier to navigate.
Some due to blindness/liss of eyesight, some read the scripture along with listening as it helps with retention, and some like to listen while in the road. There are probably other reasons, too.

Cataracts
It’s incredible McLean done at least 3 versions all the way through and knows St. Mark’s Gospel by heart.
His KJV audio doesn’t have instrumental backdrop which some either prefer or not.
I prefer just the narration. Musical accompaniment to that sort of thing comes off to me as somewhat contrived, and it’s distracting.
