President Trump spoke by phone Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine but made no headway on halting the fighting.
“I didn’t make any progress with him today at all,” Trump said of Putin, speaking to reporters as he left Washington to deliver a speech in Iowa.
According to a Kremlin briefing on the call, Trump urged Putin to quickly end the war in Ukraine but Putin refused.
It was the two leaders’ first conversation since U.S. officials said this week they had paused a series of weapons shipments for Ukraine. Trump indicated the U.S. hadn’t decided to withhold arms to Kyiv, but he added that the U.S. was examining whether it needed them for Pentagon stockpiles.
“We have to make sure we have enough ourselves,” he said.
Trump urged Putin to quickly end the war in Ukraine but the Russian president refused, according to a Kremlin briefing on the call.
Putin told Trump during the call that Russia won’t back down from its goals in Ukraine, according to Yuri Ushakov, a close adviser to the Russian president, despite the U.S. leader’s calls for a speedy end of the conflict.
“Our president said that Russia will achieve its goals, that is, the elimination of the well-known root causes that led to the current state of affairs,” Ushakov said, quoted by state news agency TASS. “Russia will not back down from these goals.”

If Russia is so great how come:
Zelensky stopped them from taking Kiev like they planned?
They have made essentially no advances in the last three years.
The lost homeland territory for the first time since WWII.
They have to use recruits from North Korea, Nepal and prisoners.
They have to get weapons from Iran.
You left out - Occupy the whole of Ukraine
Good question.
If you ask Grok or GPT if Russia has shared hypersonic technology with China, it will provide you with relevant citations to that effect. It also will note that China has moved out from that initial collaboration to develop anti Carrier hypersonics on its own, and then shared their advances with Russia.
This is one of those areas where it is not an AI opinion but rather an AI as a hyperfast search for all mentions of the factual answer to the question.
>>”I see no indication of the eradication of Russia oil and gas”
That’s not the issue that matters most. The price of oil matters a lot more than Russia’s ability to produce it. Less oil revenue equals less wealth to squander on a useless war.
“Less oil revenue equals less wealth to squander on a useless war.”
And less wealth in the pockets of Putin and his oligarch buddies.
His goals are and were to bring back the USSR / Russian Empire.
You continue to post things infinitely that are proven to be false, including from the same sources. How false were the dire predictions about Iran, for example? Yet you continue on.
“If you ask Grok or GPT if Russia has shared hypersonic technology with China,”
You originally posted that Russia had so many they were giving them to China.
Appears you are backing away fron that claim.
That too.

Money is a substance created whimsically by central banks like the Fed via QE. Russia has its own central bank.
Oil is a substance with an unchanging number of joules per gallon of pre-defined API grade and constituent yields. Arbitrary central banks cannot re-define that.
Actually other agencies can, with West Texas Intermediate having had its API parameter re-defined, but that is a change to a label — not to the gallon of substance with fixed API and constituent yield.
Money is a convenience. You you need more of it in a country, you accept the failure of your system (capitalism, in 2008) and you create more of that substance on a whim. Note that inflation did not appear until 2022, with the bulk of QE before that. If someone complains or brings suit, you defund the court that might hear it.
Contrast that with oil. If you don’t have enough of it, you either starve (no food transport) or you steal someone else’s.
Oil is everything. Not money.
Surely the easiest way to share the tech would be to ship the object and relevant maint manuals.
There is no quibbling to be had here. Russia and China have huge leads over the US in hypersonic tech, whilst we retreat to the psychological sanctuary of presumed superiority, and deny any overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
I spent eleven years in prison working on my scam. I find that those that believe what I post are so stupid they will send me $150 a month for worthless reports containg more garbage that is music to their ears. Trolling for those suckers and I don't even have to change my bait.
“Oil is everything. Not money.”
Oil is not everything.
If it was Putin would not have had rob the pension fund to get the money to fund the war.
If it was, why are Putin and the oligarchs lining their pockets with stolen money instead of oil?
Maybe we should just get out of this quagmire.
“whilst we retreat to the psychological sanctuary of presumed superiority, and deny any overwhelming evidence to the contrary.”

You are funny.

Supply and demand determines the exchange value for the number of joules found in a gallon of a pre-defined API grade. You can’t eat oil. You don’t pay workers with a gallon of oil. You pay them with something that they can trade in exchange for their basic wants and needs. And when your economy is dependent on oil exports, your customers get a say in how much money (or any other commodity) they’ll give you in exchange for that oil. It’s basic Economics 101.
You don’t shoot or bomb your enemies with oil. You use weaponry built by human beings in order to wage war. You pay those human beings with something they can exchange for what they need in life. It’s just common sense.
When the world price of oil goes down, it goes down for everyone, including the Russians. The Russian economy is highly dependent on the exchange value for a gallon of oil, not its joule content.

Russians continue to lose as Ukies give up more towns and land.
It’s working.😄
His objectives have disingenuous bollocks as justifications.
1. Without a formal application from Ukraine, without a roadmap for joining, and with three NATO members indicating they’d veto, there is as much chance of Ukraine or Russia joining NATO today as there was before the Soviet Union collapsed. The NATO charter prevents NATO from stopping either country from wanting membership or making an application, but it just as equally actively prevents either country’s progression from “partnership for peace” to member.
So. Putin’s entire argument here is beyond retarded. It’s so stupid, the reverse situation would be if the USA threatened to go to war with Mexico just because Mexico might one day want to join a club that doesn’t threaten the USA and that has already said it wouldn’t let Mexico join.
2. Ukraine was neutral and was largely demilitarised before Russia sponsored assassinations and separatist movements. Its militarisation began under Poroshenko. The quickest route to Ukrainian demilitarisation in 2012 would’ve been if the Russian people had put all the delusional revanchist lunatics like Zhirinovsky, Putin and Dugin in nooses and strung them up around the Red Square as a message to their fellow travellers.
3. Denazification was such a myth even the Kremlin stopped talking about it. Besides, Wagner and other groups have hardened Nazis in them, collecting medals from Putin. Hypocrisy much?
4. Already had that in agreements guaranteed by multiple parties. The ONLY violator of the Budapest Memorandum is Russia.
