The passing of this bill goes well beyond the sum of its parts for Donald Trump.
Yes, it solidifies some of his key aims around tax cuts and immigration policy, but it also represents a crowning moment for his total control of the Republican party in Congress, and the country.
Despite objections from hard-right members of the Freedom Caucus and from other, vulnerable Republicans in competitive districts, he's persuaded some to go against lifelong principles of fiscal conservativism, and others to put their very political survival in their districts in severe jeopardy.
Add to this a slew of other wins in recent days at Nato: on the Middle East, and on economics numbers, and it's hard not to acknowledge that this president is on a roll - and it's a big one.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Happy Holidays Freepers. I thought I'd post something a bit optimistic 😎
Oh stop it President Trump....it’s too much winning! We can’t take it! JK
Thank you. Really.
Hopefully, President Trump will roll over the BBC like a Steamroller!
Bump.
Good for you!
For those of you concerned with the huge spending in the BBB, know this — even with the Big Beautiful Bill now passed, rescission remains a live option for cutting spending, though its scope and political viability are more limited post-enactment.
Rescission is a presidential tool to propose canceling previously approved budget authority. Under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974, the president can send a rescission request to Congress, which then has 45 days to approve it via a simple majority in both chambers.
Procedurally, rescission is still viable because it applies to unobligated funds — even after a bill like BBB is passed.
Politically, it’s trickier. The BBB passed by a razor-thin margin (218–214), and any rescission effort could reopen intra-party tensions, especially it targets programs that moderates or rural-state Republicans support.
Strategically, rescission could serve as a pressure valve for fiscal conservatives who feel the BBB didn’t go far enough in cutting spending.
Know this — rescission is still on the table — but it’s more of a scalpel than a chainsaw. It won’t reverse the structural spending increases in the BBB, but it could trim around the edges and signal continued fiscal discipline.
(No thanks to your guy)
We were all wrong about Speaker Johnson.
And all of this in just the first 6 months!
Trump is on such a roll even his detractors and enemies have to admit it.
What are his sights set on next?
Well, he got the job done I admit
And by July 4th
Enjoy your weekend
Brought to you by the party of death, abortion, destruction and riots. Reposted here. Yay.
Yes, rescission is still possible, albeit as you note, at a limited scope.
And I assume Harry Reid’s poison pill is also still viable - he appointed the Senate Parliamentarian, supposedly non-partisan but in fact is anything but.
Don’t worry. We will return you to your regularly scheduled program of, we are all going to die, after this brief commercial break.
The Bee is one step ahead of you....
Millions Reported Dead As ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Passes

At this point, I think it is all about the trend. Setting a culture of responsibility was never going to easy.
And some Dem loon will run with it as an anonymous source. The wheel turns.
A final word...I said ‘no thanks to your guy’ but it was worse than simply not having Paul’s vote.
His voice is powerful. Had he been working for progress, convincing senators instead of railing against, the Senate product likely would have been even more to the advantage of the nation.
Get yourself some BBQ.
At one point, Biden was on a roll too!
Then he ate it.
“”he appointed the Senate Parliamentarian, supposedly non-partisan””
Can this person be replaced?
He is either an actual principled politician otherwise he may just be astute enough to read the polls and accept the will of the people. Some lower local Dems are running fast to the second option but would be marching along “forward” with Obama or Harris if either were President.
