We’ve all been through it at one time or another. In my small circle of friends we don’t talk politics. One exception is an elderly gentleman with long grey hair who kind of reminds me of “The Professor” in the animated series Futurama. Indeed, he IS a retired college Professor of Astronomy who is conservative. He just doesn’t look the type. He not afraid to speak his mind when it suits him. He’s very well versed in astronomy, astrophysics, AND politics and I consider it a privilege to know him.

Years ago I made the mistake of wearing an NRA hat to a meeting and got taken to the woodshed by a couple “friends”. Big argument about gun control. I held my own against both of them. I still remained friends. Years later, guess what? One has become a gun owner and 2nd Amendment advocate, and the other has pretty much divorced himself from everyone. I’m not taking credit for any of it. I very much respected the friend who dis-associated himself from everyone.

It’s too bad that liberals let their emotions get in the way of common sense.
