It’s not unlike Bill and Hillary Clinton. They despise each other but would never get divorced, they’d lose too much money from the manufactured images that fuels the book sales and speaking fees. In my experience, one thing that seems to be endemic to American black culture is the nearly constant need for attention. Mrs Obama constantly bemoans the lack of privacy, and on the other hand she’s very vocal and high profile about her hatred of anyone who “doesn’t look like her” doesn’t vote the way she thinks they should or doesn’t agree with her fantasy pop cultural ideals. She says she wants to be left alone but she always has to weigh in on realms she claims to want nothing to do with. And of course the media will - to the media, that’s like waving a red flag in front of a bull.
