Thank you very much and God bless you.
The boys needed occasional reminders that they were not playing American Football.
Also the boys were accused of "Unsportsmanlike Grins".
Transsexual Rights organizations filed formal complaints of discrimination in team choice.
I'm not sure I agree with that part. LOL She looks like she's trying to be as high maintenance as Jasmine Crockett.
+1
Every time!
Testosterone for the win!
The teen boys have the added handicap of “if the wind blows”...
As a prize for beating the National Woman’s team, the boys will get a pep talk from the Swedish Bikini team!
That’s from Madame Tussaud’s.
One would think that after so many examples like this that they’d wise up and stop playing males of any age.
YAWN ,sounds like very boring Soccer
But it’s like a communist revolution — yes, it has failed 100 times in a row; but it will surely succeed next time because this time we really have the best people in charge!
I’ve never been drunk enough to think that is pretty, she looks like a male cross dresser.
Not a surprise.
On the older end of the spectrum, my beer league hockey team has played against women just out of D-1 college hockey programs.
they are good skaters, and know structure, defense, they break-out well, etc... - but even then they have trouble beating overweight, middle-aged guys who have to go to work at 7 AM the next morning.
Are women ever pretty enough for freepers?
That’s a hard now
Honestly it’s ridiculous here and always has been
How much is female spite I have no clue
I’m not really big on the high maintenance, caked on makeup, look.
But, But,... females make our military stronger. Right.
However, a lot of fun!
U15 means the players were under 15 on the magical date that the athletic year begins. I believe for international soccer, that is January 1. In the U.S., youth soccer used to be keyed to the beginning of the school year because so much of youth sports is run through the schools, and the idea was to keep classmates on the same team. The U.S. club programs adopted the international system a few years ago, putting it out of sync with the schools.
Anyhow, a U15 team therefore has players who turn 15 during the current competition year. By midyear, it will be a mix of 14 and 15 year olds, with the balance shifting steadily to 15 as the year progresses.
Both boys’ and girls’ youth sports are ruled by puberty, and the kids who mature early have a huge advantage. They get selected for the elite teams and receive the best coaching and the strongest game experience. In a well developed club system, the weaker players will still be able to play on a lower division team and some of them will rise to the top as their physical maturation catches up.
In the U.S. school dominated system, the kids who mature later get cut in middle and early high school, and in the schools, there are no tiered divisions to fall back on. Make the team or you’re out. It’s a narrow filter. After being cut a couple or three times, they give up and drift to other sports or other activities. This is a stupid waste of talent because some of these kids may be best in class by the time they’re 16 or 17, but they won’t be unless they can stay in the sport and get solid coaching and game experience. This is why club sports are vastly superior to the school based model.
Anyhow, the top women’s soccer teams around the world routinely schedule practice games against U15 and U16 boys’ teams. They have to. They are the best women’s teams in their countries, and you only get better by playing opponents who are equal to or better than you. If there are no women’s teams that can give you a game, because you already have all the best women’s players, you go out and find boys’ teams to play, at an age against which you can still compete. Serena Williams and other top women’s tennis players routinely practice against men as well, but they don’t enter men’s tournaments because they would get smoked.
The boys’ soccer teams that are recruited for these games are typically academy teams. The academies are run by pro teams, and the youth Academy teams consist of the very best youth players in the development system. In the U.S., these are the guys who will be playing D1 soccer in a couple of years. Some of them will become pros. They are the peak athletes at that age, like the four and five star guys in the football and basketball development system.
A physically mature 15 year old male is a young adult. If you doubt that, go stumbling around inner city neighborhoods late at night looking for trouble. Trouble will find you. Are there any freepers here who think they could hold their own against a 15 year old five star basketball or football prospect? Of course not.
So: a women’s national soccer team against an elite U15 Academy boys’ team ... well, the young men will be bigger, stronger and faster. Maybe not at U14 or younger, but at U15 the edge will be decisive.
That’s why women’s sports must be competed on a class basis. A female gymnast, ice skater, golfer, tennis player or skier can’t compete with the top men in those sports either. In soccer, the U.S. women have historically been best in class, although international women’s soccer is vastly more competitive and better balanced than international men’s soccer.
I frankly think the reason for the backlash against the USWNT — the Megan Rapinoe types aside, who do a lot of harm — is that the U.S. women play for championships while the men are still embarrassments in international competitions. The U.S. mens’ team continues to be an a reasonably solid but chronically underperforming second or third tier team. It is capable of springing an occasional upset, but it also struggles to beat East Fungus and West Beheadistan. The women bring home golds against the best in the world.
Why some men seem to be too insecure to accept this is a mystery. We cheer for the U.S. women in professional golf, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, skiing, skating, and whatever. But the U.S. men are also top competitors in those sports, so the insecure men don’t feel threatened. But soccer is the one sport where the U.S. women are obviously better than the U.S. men (in the context of class competition), and some men start wetting their beds over it. Grow up.
The U.S. men underperform in soccer because the financial rewards and public attention and adulation are so much greater in baseball, football and basketball, and the top talent still gravitates towards those sports. U.S. men’s soccer, however, is slowly improving as more and more boys are raised in the sport. Most play multiple sports when young, but soccer is retaining more of the best, bit by bit. As the NFL and NBA have devolved into thug ball and doper ball with too many felons on the team, more and more parents are nudging their boys towards soccer, where players still behave like human beings and speak good English. The day might even come when the U.S. men catch up with the U.S. women. And that’s fine too, but I’m not going to cultivate insecurities in the meantime.
