If it was a BMW that burned, the cause could be that the driver actually used the turn signal, and the electrical contacts fried.

Well my 1st Tacoma had a similar problem with the brights.
My son finally replaced/rewird with a toggle switch. The
worthless new switch was around $100 10-15 years back and
melted.

As bad as bmw drivers are, Mercedes drivers are worse......with Tesla drivers being the all time award winning jackasses on the road today.....absolute and proper A-holes.
