A top staffer in the federal agency overseeing personnel for the Trump administration has denounced the US strikes on Iran as “pointless” and suggested the decision was made by members of DC’s “deep state.”
Andrew Kloster, who serves as general counsel at the Office of Personnel Management, tweeted — and then deleted — a string of posts ripping the US for having sent “handouts” to Israel in the past and for previously downplaying the threat of Tehran getting a nuclear weapon.
Within a half-hour of President Trump announcing successful US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities Saturday night, Kloster wrote on X, “I apologize and will never again doubt the power of the deep state.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
He thinks this is the first term. The recon tour. It’s not
Definitely a career changing event.
Accidentally speaking the truth: the very definition of a political gaffe.
Help wanted… general counsel at the Office of Personnel Management. Qualifications include keeping foot out of mouth
This two bit personnel lawyer seems to think you should always ask the personnel director for tactical military advice before you bomb a nuclear site. Hope he enjoys his new job after they clear his office out

‘Accidentally speaking the truth’
There is no truth in that. Trump is not run by ye deep state. You cannot give any example of such a thing
He was general counsel to Jew-hating wackjob Matt Gaetz, so no surprise he believes Israel controls Trump.
Buh bye.
I wonder where Andrew will be working next week?
Yep, I always look to HR lawyers for military assessments of threats and after action reports. Why would one believe the experts when you have a legal eagle expert in employment law to set the record straight?
Why is a career bureaucrat suddenly crowing about the ‘deep state’, a topic about which Conservatives have been roundly mocked?
It’s a good question.
As I’ve written prior, though I wholly support the decision to attack - at a minimum in part for a little payback, even if it was on the backs of the IDF - the undercurrent of deja vu is inescapable for me. This is very curious...
Yup, that’s former top staffer to you sir! Of course the media has a long history of special editing of statements so as to so discord amongst Trump, his staff and MAGA.
He knew this would get him fired. It seems very calculated and part of a bigger plan. … or maybe he was just drunk.
We would be getting a “coalition of the willing” together for “regime
change” if the deep state had got to Trump.
lawyer at opm sez...
seems a little bit out of his lane
BYE, DUMBASS!!!

No info on what the author did before 2023....
Isn’t that interesting.
I have no doubt the neocons loved this action and wanted more more more. The MIC loves a good war.
Iran’s nuclear ambitions has been a thorn in the side of the west for decades requiring president after president to deal with Iran to try and prevent them from having nuclear weapons. Since Israel had pretty much shut down Iran’s air defenses & the Iranians were refusing to come to the table to make a deal, Trump saw the a clear target of opportunity to try and remove that thorn with minimal loss of life. He saw how they responded to the Soleimani hit back in his first term, and Iran responded similarly this time. I have said this on other threads: Iran does not want the US to wage direct war on them, although they will continue their terrorist type actions on the US, they are careful on how far they will go especially with a president like Trump.
There is no sense trying... The capability to understand is just not here.
