Graveyards Filled with Tombstones, Waiting for the Names

Recently, I spoke to you about worry and fear — the “fear mongering” that’s propagated by the media, which Christians seem to crave so much. It seems Christians, especially, seek out and eat up the bad news of war, pestilence, and imminent threats to our homeland and all of mankind.

Yes, God’s Word does speak of a time of great tribulation, which the world has never seen before, coming in the last days. And Christians love to see the prophecies of the Bible fulfilled in our time, because they desperately long for Christ’s second coming, when true justice will be meted out and Christians will be welcomed into God’s everlasting kingdom. Then, “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

A curious article. I’ve seen this form many times before - the castigation of ‘some Christians’ for not doing enough ( not being ‘good enough’) to feel as though they’ve earned and are worthy of their grace, followed by some flavor of leftist politics intended to pull support or interest away from preferred political viewpoint.

By hammering a guilt-inducing condition ( rightfully, Christians should consider their unthinking human response to the human tragedy ) and denigrating Christians for not being at the ‘acceptable point’ on their walk with Christ - that’s manipulation. It’s abusive, and the reader should take care in internalizing some other human’s bile - practice discernment wherever possible.

One thing the man made climate hoaxers and Christians have in common is the imminent doomsday crap.

William Miller is perhaps the most famous false prophet in history.

In the 1840s he began to preach about the world's end, saying Jesus Christ would return for the long-awaited Second Coming and that Earth would be engulfed in fire sometime between March 21, 1843, and March 21, 1844.

He circulated his message in public gatherings and by using the technologies of the day — posters, printed newsletters and charts.

Moved by those messages, as many as 100,000 "Millerites" sold their belongings between 1840 and 1844 and took to the mountains to wait for the end. When that end didn't come, Miller changed the date to Oct. 22. When Oct. 23 rolled around, his loyal followers explained it away yet again and went on to form the Seventh-day Adventist movement.

Was that before or after Miller toured with Stillwater?

“One thing the man made climate hoaxers and Christians have in common is the imminent doomsday crap.”

I have often thought the climate hoaxers adapted their strategy from the endtime delusion — the mistaken idea that God intended for Christians to live under the cloud of impending doom for two thousand years and counting.

I John 2:18 - “these are the end times...” He was referring to his time only.

With climate hoaxers it's an excuse for move govt control and grift. With Christians I don't know the motivation, but it's never to use govt to limit my freedoms.

Some Christians misinterpret the Bible somewhat intensely.

Wut are y’all going on about?

The rapture occurred a while back. Part of that action is the erasure of the realization of that event. Not that it could occur, but that it already has.

We are all the leftovers.
