People keep forgetting that Iran and all it's proxies have been an 'endless war' since the late '70s.
This last weekend has be in the making for over twenty years - perhaps if correctly managed, it can have a better-than-average outcome.
Not sure I'd bet on that, but I can hope.

Sometimes in order to end war, you have to wage war. In this case, take away Iran's ability to use nuclear weapons. This crap with Iran's uranium enrichment has been going on for 45 years. Don't you think that's long enough?
