The Georgians in England installed window shutters that could be closed up rather tightly from the inside of the house. There are similar shutters in some houses on Capitol Hill in DC.
A Bluetooth transmitter in a belt could open and close interior window shutters. I’m in the master bedroom. The shutters in the other rooms in my house would be closed.
On really cold days, both shutters in the master bedroom might be closed and LED lights turned on. In summer late afternoons, the west window shutters might be closed.
In my youth, there were streets in Albany, NY with elm tree canopies in the summertime.

I have drapes and window blinds. When you open each you can really feel the heat from the sun. It would be great to have windows that would reflect the rays but also let you see out.
