.....Iran is Russia’s southern flank and the gateway to the Caspian Sea oil and natural gas reserves. Iran is also China’s Western flank who built the Silk Road overland logistical supply route to Iran to access the Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf oil and natural gas reserves without going through the Strait of Hormuz or the Strait of Malacca. China does not like Israel bombing their investment and making China vulnerable to being cut off from energy supplies. The Israeli bombing of Iran is an existential threat to China. It is a precursor move to cut them off of energy at the maritime chokepoints by bombing their land based structure and infrastructure.
