RATS have a strategy.

No strategy, that would take planning. They have an obsession. They are anti-Trump. They have NO strategy to make the US great. They have no strategy to make life better for the common folk. They have no strategy beyond winning elections but forgot why they wanted to win and for what purpose.

“Hey Joe” existed before Jimi Hendrix covered it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. That comparison is hitting below the belt. Dish rags serve a useful purpose.

How this guy gets reelected is way beyond me. He has to be the most stupid person ever elected to congress. What District does he represent?

With the availability of electronic auto tuners, how could he have a fine guitar totally out of tune for this historic musical event?

Plus he must have practiced singing the tripe song for hours and then was flat. As someone (cruelly) said of Ringo Starr:
“He tries to make acquaintance with the notes, a little below, a little above and sometimes right on the note as he sings.”

Don’t want to leave a dig at Ringo here, I loved It Ain’t Easy and Photograph, for example, and his overlooked but fine country album Beaucoups of Blues.

The poignant Photograph was sung at the one year anniversary memorial Concert For George with the lines that make me think of my dear wife Joy’s passing:

I can’t get used to livin’ here while my heart is broke
My tears I cried for you.
I want you here to have and hold as the years go by
And we grow old and grey.

Now you’re expecting me to live without you
But that’s not something that I’m lookin’ forward to.

But all I’ve got is a photograph, and I realise you’re not comin’ back anymore.

Yoko Ono is still alive, believe or not. 92 years young.
Cringe must keep you alive.

Yes.

The Leaves sang it first in 1964.

Little known group The Music Machine album had mostly covers including a version of this and 96 Tears. Obscure but good album but they only lasted for 2 LPs.

I remember the Byrds singing it but only live, not on a studio version for some reason.
“The Byrds were known to perform the song at the LA hotspot Ciro’s which is where The Leaves discovered the track, and eventually became the first group to record and release the song commercially. Debuting as “Hey Joe, Where You Gonna Go” in November 1965, it found limited commercial success.”

Brief list:

Patti Smith, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Frank Zappa, Cher, Johnny Hallyday, Type O Negative, and Wilson Pickett (featuring Duane Allman).

Does Hank know about this?

I like this version, but it's probably not the same song.

Hey, Joe--Carl Smith (1953)

And here's Kitty's answer.

Hey, Joe--Kitty Wells (1953)

Sorry for the title slipup. If I’m old enough to have bought It Don’t Come Easy on a 45 single then I’m.....old.

The guy couldn’t channel Calhoun Tubbs, let alone Jimi Hendrix.
