Trump will be out of office in a little over 3 1/2 years. We have no guarantee that a Democrat will not replace him.
The other problem is that Congress is filled with Traitors and Grifters…deciding to act as fraud machines for Democrat networks…
There is no guarantee the Democrats will not be in a position to do the same mischief with a Democrat President doing even more mischief, unchecked and unbalanced.
. Our constitutional system of government is not based on the luck of who happens to hold the office but on the checks and balances that might perhaps curb the deceitful hearts of man.
Yes, Trump is "the first American-first president in DC since Reagan," but look what happened to us after Reagan. I know you have enough experience here and an intellect so often demonstrated, that you are not unmindful of the deluge that might occur after Trump.
We are not here as a Trump admiration society, as admirable as the man might be, we are here as constitutional conservatives.
Cutting through the fluff, the checks and balances have been both subverted, and overwhelmed.
U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs (Blocked Trump from canceling Harvard’s student visa program)
U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer (Oredered Trump to immediately turn over control of the National Guard to Gavin Newsome)

U.S. District Judge Hellerstein (Blocked Trump from deporting illegal alien gang members under the Aliens Enemies Act)
U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell ( Impeachment, January 6th etc),
U.S. District Court Judge Adam Abelson, (injunction against Trump terminating DEI grants and programs )
U.S. District Court Judge James E. Boasberg (holding the Trump Administration in contempt for not returning the plane full of Venezuelan gang members; injunction against deportation of Venezuelan gang members )
U.S. District Court Judge Alvin Hellerstein, (twice rejectedTrump’s effort to move his hush money criminal case from New York state court to federal court)

U.S. District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer(Injunction DOGE Dept of Treasury, referred to Trump as a tyrant),
U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan (E. Jean Carroll sexual assault case),

Alejando Mayorkas,
Norm Eisen (152 lawsuits and counting against the Trump Administration)
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (Called for mass mobilization and disruption against Republicans-“These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.”
Senator Elissa Slotkin (Impeachment, “war plan” against Trump)
Senator Chuck Schumer (Called for Trump 45 and 47 impeachment)
Senator Jon Ossoff (Called for Trump to be impeached in 2025)
Adam Schiff ( impeachment, evidence of Russian collusion)
Rep. Laura Friedman (colluding with state AGs to engage in lawfare against Trump)
Senator Brian Schatz (Holding up over 300 of Trump’s nominations )
Rep. Jamie Raskin ( threatened foreign governments that support Trump, co-sponsored legislation to keep Trump of the ballot)
Rep. Sara Jacobs (Congress- Bill to defund DOGE)

Since pres Trump is a king, overrule the judge, then throw the judge in a dungeon!
Anarchy like communism never sleeps.
From Wikipedia:
In December 2020, Burroughs presided over a lawsuit brought by five Republicans who lost state and federal legislative races in Massachusetts and sought to overturn the election results. Judge Burroughs stated during a December 2020 hearing that she viewed the lawsuit’s requested relief of invalidating the votes of millions of Massachusetts resident as “too late,” “misplaced,” and “terribly unfair.”
Your thoughts are enlightens, and suggest that Congress lack of oversight domestically has left us wanting as a Republic. Power has been collecting in the executive and judicial branches. One is elected, one really is not.
Just have our visa officers make a determination the applicant’s real intention is to immigrate to the US. Easy denial.
Clearly, checks and balances our being subverted. That is as it has always been and eternally will be. But "cutting through the fluff" does not mean surrendering to pique and dismissing the entire constitutional system because it has engaged in one of its periodic detours off course.
When Checks and balances have been subverted, the remedy is not to take your marbles and go home but to restore those checks and balances to their proper place.
Again, this is a forum for discourse on constitutional conservatism and the preservation and its values, not their destruction. This is a place for reinforcing the Constitution, not for nihilism.
The answer is to go on the cultural offensive and restore Christianity to the country and to DC.
In the meantime, I’m not about throwing away the Constitution: I’m just pointing out checks and balances don’t work if they are not actually *used*.
The practical problem — aside from immorality — is the Chamber of Commerce / Rockefeller Wing of the GOP, who Cuck and backstab everytime the GOP gets a majority, so that they cannot make any more headway than token band-aids on rolling back the egregious corruptions and depradations of the Dems.
Moral victories are pyrrhic victories.
Shake hands all ‘round, then.
My disagreement is with your apparent thinking that playing by Marquis of Queensbury rules during a knife fight (”my Constitutional Principles!”) is going to do any particular good. I *do* agree that we need to avoid the mistakes of the Dems (For example, emoving the filibuster out of spite, thinking they’d never need it themselves.)
But I’m getting ahead of that vanity; if I have time after grilling.
Peace out, sirrah.
You might be right about the percentage of Chinese students at Harvard. The school was found to have been discriminating against Asian-Americans in 2018, but not Asians as a whole.
Chi-com students should never be allowed anywhere near research universities, especially since recently, some have been caught trying to bring deadly pathogens into the country. All of them should be completely banned.
I was reading up on the 1979 Revolution in Iran the other day, and discovered that during Carter’s administration, Iranian students made up the highest number of foreign students in this country. They even organized groups and started protesting here against the Shah. Sound familiar?
I think someone needs to conduct a study of every college in this country, in order to find out just how many foreign students are here on student visas, how long they’ve been here, how long they will be here, their field of study, the internships they’ve been given, and the countries they are from. Has anything like that ever been done?
China has infiltrated this country I believe, far more than the Russians ever did.
Private organizatios DO NOT have the right to determine immigration amounts or status.
That is exactly what a student exchange is... a private organization inviting in foreign students.
If private organizations can invite in, other private organizations can keep out. Private citizens would be allowed to turn back border jumpers.
But... we all know logic is not allowed when something is a leftists pet project.
But the overloading at Harvard of +25% is huge. President Trump is on the right track. Federal money needs to be redirected to trade schools.
I wonder if China paid Harvard extra money under the table so they'd take more Chi-com students. Sounds plausible.
Hi again, mass55th... Reading your post again, I see you hit on a key issue that has not been fully exposed:
That explains a lot: if you walked around Harvard Square you'd see a very high percentage of students of Asian descent. But that number would be highly overloaded with students from Communist China: full scholarships paid by the Politburo in Beijing. Harvard alum, Bill Ackman, has been at the forefront of fighting Harvard from within. Comments from Google search:
The campaign against Gay and the broader criticism of Harvard, fueled by individuals like Ackman, highlight the ongoing tensions and debates surrounding the university's leadership, academic integrity, and its role in addressing social and political issues. Found a terrific 7 minute YouTube with a Steve Forbes interview of Bill Ackman on Harvard's decline as an institution and its significant financial troubles. |
