Yes. There’s almost point in running for a public office with wages of “just” a couple hundred thousand dollars a year when it costs multi- millions just yo campaign for it.

The point is, getting into the “public” office enables making multi millions more in “contributions” and unreported bribes —- millions and millions and millions more $$$$$$$$

And this is true across much or even most of both political parties.

Thinking of how phuqued- up California is, that state previously had a powerful legislative leader called Jessie Unruh. Who would occasionally make rather candid, truth- bearing statements (whether fully intentional
Or not). Whrn a reporter asked him about all the corruption in Sacramento (like, under his legislative leadership), he immediately protested that “California has the very best government that money can buy!!”)
