Since when are tips counted as part of payroll? Tips are from the customer, not the employer. You’re just a Trump hating troll.

Nope, sorry. That’s the whole point to Trump saying “no tax on tips”. They are supposed to be estimated with payroll taxes withheld—and employers pay half of that.

By moving to no tax on tips, employers wouldn’t be paying their half of thek associated payroll tax.

If you haven’t been an employer (or self-employed), you may not realize that.
