We don’t know who will be running for president in Iran...

In the Middle East, presidencies tend to resemble monarchies, i.e., Hussein in Iraq, Assad in Syria, Mubarak in Egypt, etc. Iran might be better off restoring the monarchy, although the last Shah was forced from power due to his authoritarian regime. His son needs to renounce that part of his father's legacy and lay out a constitution. I don't think he has to date.

There is probably a large amount of people who support the Shah coming back. Kings are not all bad. England has one. several others. The real ground war yet to come is to eliminate the motorcycle gang sharia enforcers. This is where the power of the regime resides. Whatever happens king/parliament or something else, i think it will be generated by the Iranian people.

I don't know that any of the monarchies in the Gulf have a constitution. Iran could be the first. The Gulf monarchs tend to rely on their political skills to remain in power. An independent judiciary does not exist in that part of the world to interpret a constitution.

The last thing Iranian’s need is a king... What they do need is a name change. Persia sounds good, and then they need an actual democracy.

In 1979 the Iranian’s dumped their appointed king, for a phony religious king.... And it’s been downhill ever since then. A little democracy would go a long way... So forget the former royals and concentrate on freedom.
