The United States, under anti-Semite Lyndon Johnson, was a putative ally of Israel at best.

LBJ an anti-Semite?

Wow, that accusation is used with the most reckless abandon.

Do some internet searches. Jewish sources claim that LBJ had Jewish heritage and was proud of it. And that he was a great friend of Israel.

The below articles are all from Jewish writers, Jewish publications:

Friend, ally, savior: Revealing LBJ’s Jewish ties.

Lyndon Johnson: Israel Has Had No Better Friend.

Lyndon Johnson: No better friend.

How LBJ forged the US-Israel alliance.

LBJ: An Unheralded Holocaust Hero.

How LJ forged the alliance is one article you picked. You will note that it conveniently begins just as the Six Day War begins. The US did nothing either to prevent that war or assist Israel in fighting it. Lyndon Johnson supported Israel because it won. Had it lost he would have continued to ignore the state of Israel.
