“who hasn’t had a shark drop from the sky on them?”
Never had that happen but Living on the Florida coast I’ve spent my share of time in the ocean.
Back in the 80s I found myself in chest deep water on a morning that the ocean was completely calm as a lake.
And then around 15 feet away a black fin pops up and begins swimming parallel to the beach.
At that point I began to egress the water as quickly and especially as quietly as possible.
Most people don’t realize if you’ve spent any time at all in the ocean you’ve more than likely been within 10 feet of a shark and never knew it, and probably on more than one occasion.
I was snorkeling the reef several miles off Key West and turned around to be face to face with a 5 ft shark.
No brown streak in the water but I couldn’t get out of the water fast enough. Scared me more than I care to admit.
