An ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin has said that "a full-scale war" in the Middle East is possible following Israel's airstrikes on Iran.

Konstantin Kosachev, vice-speaker of Russia's upper house of parliament, made clear that Russia would stand by its ally, Iran.
"Israel's actions cannot be justified from a legal, political, military or moral point of view. The only hope, albeit illusory, of avoiding a full-scale war is a consolidated condemnation of this operation by the international community," he said, according to Russia's official TASS news agency.
"We can and must hope for another demonstration of restraint from Iran. One must always hope for the best, but naturally there are limits to [Iran's] patience."

That was before Israel (reacted) attacked this recalcitrant enemy of it and the US. US kicks can down the road; Israel attacks can.

Generally, yes. But sneaking SOF troops with drones to take out AD and top officials was probably not something anyone planned on protecting against.
It also suggests that Israel has a large Iranian clandestine network setup in Iran and probably knew the exact location of every Iranian AD installation.

After Israel is finished with Iran, I don’t think the Iranians will have any military leaders or strategy left. Iran will most likely counter attack, then Israel will completely destroy them. At least tat’s the way I see it. I’ve been waiting a long time for Israel with our help to take out the Iranian scum.

Zero chance those SAMS weren’t active last night. My guess is that they couldn’t detect the F-35’s. If by slim chance they did the Muzzies must have turned off the radar as that makes the SAM’s easier pickens.
I think we probably saw the sum total of Iran’s “counterattack” last night, when they launched about 100 drones that failed to even reach Israel’s borders before they were destroyed. By now, their missile forces have certainly been decimated, if not totally eliminated, by Israel.
I always thought the handwringing over what would happen if we or Israel ever attacked Iran was foolish. The contention that attacking Iran would “inflame the Middle East” or cause an even larger war always flew in the face of the known facts. Iran has no allies in the Middle East. The only Muslim countries that have any significant military capability hate the Iranian mullahs even more than we do, and have been quietly encouraging an attack for a long time. And Iran by itself never had a military to be worried about, so long as they were not permitted to acquire nukes, which was the whole point.
And as for Russia, they will bluster a little, but they are in no position to intervene. Once Israel erased Hezbollah and Hamas, and with Syria also out of the picture, Iran had no serious leverage and Russia had no remaining influence in the Middle East.

The US moved drones and chips production to the Middle East about a month ago. I thought it was a slight of Ukraine to get them to the peace tables. Now, I am wondering if it wasn’t a redirect of resources to force Iran to the table.
They were buying drones from Iran.
