Should have taken two minutes to proofread your illiterate headline.

Rule #1: never read Rolling Stone lyrics, it ruins it.
My personal favorite is listening to a Jagger solo song and hearing “it’s all just applesauce” which I thought was pretty cool and original.
Then I read the lyrics and it turned out it was just “it’s all out of focus. It’s all, baby, so unclear”.

“So Caught Up in You” by .38 Special. I could have sworn for years that it was a tribute to Francis Bauvier. “Aunt Bee it’s true! You’re the one!”

For five decades, I thought that in “She’s a Woman,” the Beatles were singing, “she don’t hit RBI’s (in baseball, “runs batted in”)—perhaps meaning that she only scores with her lover and no one else. However, when I saw the lyrics, I learned that they were singing, “she don’t give boys the eye.”

In her 1953 hit
Hound Dog, I thought for decades that Willie Mae Thornton was singing, "and daddy, I know, you ain't no aristocrat." However in her
rockabilly version, also from 1953, Betsy Gay enunciates more clearly, singing "and daddy, I know, you ain't no real cool cat"--which means, essentially, the same thing.

When listening to "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, I thought I heard them singing, "I'm trying to meet some girl"--and it still sounds like that's what they are singing. However, according to every lyrics site I have seen, they are actually singing, "I'm trying to make some girl." Perhaps they are using a
girl machine-to make a girl.
