I though shingles was the result of chicken pox itself. Which I had as a child.

I had chicken pox, not the vaccine. I got shingles when COVID was all the rage.
I also have a very high pain tolerance, so while the rash was annoying and painful, it wasn’t enough for me to take to my primary care physician.
