"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time." - Ecclesiastes 1:9-10

“...What of Martin Luther King? “His death just gave us an excuse,” said Ronald Rudolph, 22, in Pittsburgh. “I never did dig the man much when he was alive.”...”

Hell, Rudolph, you wasn’t even born when he was killed...LOL

Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”?

Machines powerful and adaptive enough to do the work only men used to be capable, virtually autonomously. Global communications. Space travel. Birth control.

Give me a break. These things are new, with serious social implications. Yet people at heart are the same. We don't yet know how to adapt to these changes without destructive multigenerational consequences. It is why we still should look to the Torah, despite the seemingly declining value of its instructions. Such is hard to teach to our children faced with so many attractions. It is why love of the Lord must come first.

Here is another oldie. We often hear that LBJ's Great Socciety corrupted a healthy black culture and turned it dysfunctional. This article from 1958 puts the lie to that claim:

NEGRO CRIME RATE
