Ping!.................
What’s the OS? Is it Android? Android is Google’s OS.
Key points for this small tablet that can be used as a Starlink phone
— Your AI is done locally. No one needs to see it or put into a database
— Connection not just by starlink, but also by cellular providers. iirc T-Mobile is partner on this
— Starlink connection — My take is that you will need an external antennae to connect.
- Low price of $179 —— Device will be launched in about a year.
“Whatโs the OS? Is it Android? Android is Googleโs OS.”
Runs on a new proprietary OS. Unique to this tablet/phone.
This device has maximum privacy features. Maximum shielding from data harvesters that I and you hate.
Elon Musk is a great showman and promoter. He tends to make hyperbolic claim, much like President Trump.
In much the same vein, the claims eventually become reality or close to it, but it takes much longer than the first promotions said.
Is the video the same?

If it includes Starlink without monthly fees, I wonder if I can use it as a hotspot?
The Aspertard has to be seeing a drop in his sales.
Starlink is already disruptive and it’s only scratching the surface right now.
When Starlink’s direct to cell feature gets fully rolled out, Starlink could very likely become the dominate cell phone carrier in the world.
Imagine, going anywhere in the world, with no roaming charges, and be fully connected to highspeed internet from the same provider and be fully capable of making unlimited cell phone calls.
I could easily see this new tablet being rolled out by Starlink as the first of many products that combine data as well as cell phone calling in one device and full worldwide connectivity.
Needs a catchy name, maybe something like “Skynet”?
Maybe a Raspberry pi?
OK, Elon
Now have a powwow with the former Research In Motion guys and duplicate the BlackBerry Classic cell phone and format. Kick-ass security, tactile keyboard, etc.
Do it!
Linux.
I just switched to Starlink and am impressed. It seems to be stable even in heavy rain. The cost is less than half of what I was paying for fiber optic cable and the download speed is three times as fast. Upload is 35mps.
This may not be representative of what is available in your area, but it made a big difference for me. Do diligent research first.
The Pi tablet has my eye since my iPad is 6 years old.

If only ... If only he adopted a platform similar to RIM with the BlackBerry Classic extreme security and physical keyboard.
how much do you pay for starlink?
