Elon Musk backs down in Trump battle as Tesla stocks nosedive and MAGA threatens to kick him out the country: Live updates
Daily Mail ^ | 6/625 | Charlie Spiering

Elon Musk appears to have begun walking back his attacks on Donald Trump barely 12 hours after stunning the world with a social media spree.

The world's richest man has lost almost $30 billion in net worth and has seen his Tesla stock tumble after going rogue on the president, including reigniting his history with Jeffrey Epstein.

Even his estranged father Errol begged him to unwind before doing lasting damage, with some Trump allies calling for him to lose his security clearances, government contracts and even face deportation.

Musk broke his silence on Friday by agreeing with an X post that claimed he never attacked Trump personally.

Musk’s post-election mission was to be brief, stay for the initial DOGE access, setup, data extraction and analysis. Done.

Musk said at the end of the election, he would fund primary challengers to run against all corrupt politicians. He raised his hand when asked, “where’s the George Soros for the right?”

Musk cannot do that from the White House or even if he appears he’s doing it with Trump’s blessing; they need a clean break; Musk’s Epstein comment facilitates that, while also serving as a forcing function for releasing the Epstein files.

Trust me when I say, if there were ANY Trump-Tawdriness or Trump-Pedo information in those files, it would have been released in 2016.

Look for Musk to become hyper-political in the coming months.

Trump, and yes Musk, did not win last year’s election battle without a plan for the long game.

Musk makes and sells his cars in China (which requires his being a partner with the CCP) and also has batteries from China in all the cars he sells.

I believe that is now somewhat incorrect. Tesla sales in China have gone way down (again mainly because the Chicoms are pushing their BYD EV's). China is at this point no longer a blip on the Tesla marketing radar.

And Tesla's GigaFactory in China is no longer the only source for Tesla batteries. They have many GigaFactories in the world, including in Nevada and Austin (https://techcrunch.com/2025/02/06/tracking-the-ev-battery-factory-construction-boom-across-north-america/). Which is why Tesla EV's qualify for the new EV tax credit, including the rule that the battery be made in the U.S. (or a trading partner country).

Don't get me wrong. Tesla for a while did have to work with China for batteries. But I think that's no longer the case, certainly not for Tesla sales anywhere outside of China.

Big whoop, sales in China are down 6%: https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/teslas-china-made-ev-sales-fall-6-yy-april-2025-05-07/

And batteries? 40% came from China a couple of years ago, but they also just opened a massive facility in China:

The legacy mainstream media can only maintain their credibility on this topic of Musk as long as Musk is shown to be the person really in charge of the Executive branch of the federal government.

In reality the more likely candidates for who is really running the show behind the scenes are a bunch of election-denier district judges.

Musk should have NOT made it personal and just focus on his frustrations with the Big Beautiful Bigger Deficits bill & kept his focus on what’s happening on the Hill to get the DOGE cuts and the rest of the pork cuts needed (including in the Big Beautiful BS) made permanent through recissions legislation. Musk’s approach shot himself in the foot. That’s where the real action is happening, including the upcoming primary season and then the 2026 general election. If we don’t see headway made on the secular debt problem & GOP retaining the House then we will reach the fiscal collapse tipping point very fast & likely before Trump’s term is over.

Trump has not threatened to kick Musk out of the country. Bannon did, but he isn’t running anything.

Practically everything people buy in America was made in China. We buy it and we kind of have to because we farmed almost everything over to China.

Our States even sell land to China next to military bases. It sure as hell isn’t Musk doing that.

I guess a lot of people in America are partners with China.

That’s not the point. To manufacture anything in China you essentially are required to partner with the CCP.

“Trust me when I say, if there were ANY Trump-Tawdriness or Trump-Pedo information in those files, it would have been released in 2016.”

Not every person who dealt with Epstein was doing so because they wanted to engage in whatever sick fantasy they had. So even if Trump’s name is in any file I would not conclude he was automatically guilty by association. Epstein no doubt had influence outside of his island doings.

If nothing else it destroyed the left wing narrative that Musk was somehow the second most powerful person in the administration.

That and the narrative that Trump was in cognitive decline and was off his game.

Trump showed he still loves a food fight and he can dish out more than he takes.

If this article is to be believed, Musk admitted Trump is his daddy.

Really not much meat left on the bone for the chattering classes to chew on.

It filled the news cycles for a few days and earned Elite Stream Media a lot of clicks.

Trump OWNS the media.

Without him they got nothing left but to scavenge social media for stories of freaks and geeks.

Musk broke his silence on Friday by agreeing with an X post that claimed he never attacked Trump personally.

He absolutely DID attack PDJT personally with wild-ass speculation about his being on the Epstein list and the heavy inferences that went with it.

Walking that back is going to take a hell of a lot more than "never attacked Trump personally" ...
