Arguably no show on cable news provides a better window into President Donald Trump’s thinking than Fox & Friends. And on Wednesday, one of the hosts revealed the president — though he may not be saying it publicly — is seeing red over Elon Musk trashing his “Big, Beautiful” budget bill.
During a discussion about Musk in the 7 a.m. ET hour on Wednesday, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade shed some light on Trump’s current feelings about the man he tapped to oversee DOGE.
“I think the Elon Musk thing really caught the president by surprise,” Kilmeade said. “And I hear he is furious!”
Still, Kilmeade’s next comments offered a preview of Trump’s likely response — or non-response, as it were.
“I think he’s so smart to keep his powder dry,” Kilmeade said. “Because it just plays into what critics would have to say, ‘The right can’t get out of their own way.’ Instead, you have a goal: Pass it. Elon Musk is not in the Senate or the House. Don’t worry about it.”
Co-host Lawrence Jones tried to paint a more rosy picture — arguing that Musk is still a Trump ally despite launching a scorched earth attack on the president’s signature legislation.
“I don’t think Elon is anti-MAGA now, or anti-the president now,” Jones said. “He worked so hard, put a lot of stuff on the line to get a lot wasteful stuff cut.”
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt, in response, suggested the fences may not be so easy to mend.
“I was shocked to hear him say that,” she said. “I can understand why the president would not be happy about that.”
I think there is a Kayfabe aspect to it.
Why would she trash it? Some of these people lack critical thinking skills.
I love Trump, but that BBB is a pile of crap.
Methinks that the Trumpster backs Elon and will use this to his advantage. Let’s hope so. As for the DemocRATz, eff them and the sewer they crawled out of.
If it is indeed full of pork, and raises the deficit $trillions like they do every other time, then I don’t want it either.
I agree.
“Arguably no show on cable news provides a better window into President Donald Trump’s thinking than Fox & Friends.”
Arguably.
This gives the senate a backing to cut some of the fat. They need to get to work and trim some fat and Elon get some love from the democrats. All in all good results.
The bill has 1.6 trillion in cuts. It’s going to drive economic growth for years.
Can you imagine how Musk feel after putting all that time and effort to identify waste and corruption, while being subjected to leftist hatred, death threats, and damage to his Tesla brand, only to have the “Republican” controlled House include that same waste and corruption in their bill!
I’d be pissed too!
I don’t think anyone really likes the bill but it is almost impossible to get anything passed that restricts spending.
“I hear ...”. Great journalism Kilmeade.
Leave it to you to try and use left wing news to hurt Trump. Your type wants a rift between Trump and Musk.
The timing comes right as the 103 day planned exit of Musk from DOGE.
All anyone has to do is look at the articles you post.
For a bill that conservative REPUBLICANS are attacking, I guess that it was an act of sarcasm calling it “big and beautiful.”
Trump learned during his first term that tax cuts delayed until too far into a new president’s term will not have time before the subsequent federal midterm elections to have the desired economic and, frankly, political effects. Thereby raising the possibility that in the wake of the midterm elections Republicans will lose control of one or both houses of Congress. This explains why Trump is not overreacting to aspects of the bill he doesn’t prefer. He’s getting what he feels he needs to build a foundation for a considerable amount of additional legislation to address hopefully all other remaining problems, in due time.
Musk is right. He worked and risked a lot to find and get rid of waste and Congress just wants to use those savings to use on other pork for themselves--and more.
This and other key details of the past weeks - including the farcical ‘bbb’ - lend me to postulate that perhaps they’ve gotten to him.
The coming months should prove quite interesting.
Perhaps Trump thinks that lipstick on a pig is necessary.
CONGRESS BETTER START CUTTING...NOW..LAND DONT GO HOME TIL THEY DO !
