If this negotiating tactic by Rand results in the Republicans putting real spending cuts in the Big Beautiful, he’ll have my thanks. Think about how many of us FReepers were hoping the Big Beautiful had all of the DOGE cuts, only to be disappointed when the details came out. Rand is the someone loudly reminding Congress why MAGA put them there.

This has been repeated ad nauseum that the DOGE cuts need to be codified in a recission bill. Rand is lying and grandstanding. MAGA wants the bill and put Trump in, not Rand.

Meanwhile, the reconciliation package can only tinker with mandatory spending, referring to costs that are required by law and are not annually approved by lawmakers.”

It won't. It's not a negotiating tact, it's a PR tactic because Rand thinks he can win a POTUS election and is trying to raise his profile.

In other words, this is all about Rand, and he is hindering the only chance we have with President Trump to get things done, as well as, get rid of the RINO trash in the house and senate so that we can move closer to actually doing what Rand states he wants to accomplish.
