He had to have had great training. Landing a plane on the water is no easy task. I took a 10 hour Pinch Hitter course from my husband in the ‘70’s in case something happened to him at the controls but I wouldn’t have wanted to count on my skill to get that plane safely on the ground. Great job!!
Another just happened off the coast of Vero Beach a couple days ago. Carrying three passengers crashed into the water and all three passengers survived and we rescued and two were treated and released at the hospital. The pilot is still here. I am in the same hospital.
The military has a policy of regularly examining their aircraft to certify air worthiness. Are private aircraft subject to periodic similar inspections?
