It would appear to me that black people should be offended by all of these close up commercials showing them always cramming a burrito or a chicken sandwich in their mouth.
on black guys**
Watched "Escape from Sobibor" last night, good movie. About midway through the movie, which showed numerous instances of Nazi soldiers shooting Jews, I thought, "wow, Trump is compared to THESE guys?" Of course, you could say that about any WWII movie that involved concentration camps.
FWIW, we are a mixed race family. My wife is Hispanic, and grew up in El Paso. My mother seemed unsure when I first told her about my new girlfriend, but I stopped her and said, "I've got news for you, Mom. There aren't many blue-eyed blondes in El Paso!"
We just celebrated our 37th anniversary. Three kids and three grandkids, we have been blessed.
You have to be racist (on Madison Ave.) to make these ads in the first place. Personally, I think these ads tick off the racists more than the general public, who just simply finds them odd. Madison Ave. may just beat themselves up because it’s not working.
I knew we were in trouble when they started showing commercials of women flaunting their ability to “drop a deuce” on TV. It’s like they were teaching us something we men didn’t already know.
I’m not black but everyone seams to be selling everything they have to blacks with all the blacks in ads
I got rid of television in 1997, roughly at the same time I started posting on Free Republic. Every now and then I’m exposed to it of course, and I’m quite frankly shocked at the commercials until television nowadays.
If I was an alien just coming to visit the earth I would think that the entire population was black, sick, and ate an unbelievable amount of very unhealthy restaurant food. Among other things. Those are just at the top of my list. If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny.
Something I noticed back in the ‘70s with children’s commercials on TV was they would always show kids a little bit older than the age group the toys were actually for, playing with the toys.
And then, obviously, I noticed the same thing with commercials aimed at adults. On rare occasion when I am at a friend’s house or somewhere where I happen to see a commercial for a restaurant, I noticed how often the people playing the part of customers look oddly overweight. The closest thing to TV viewing I do nowadays is using YouTube. But I’m going to spend the $14 a month to not see any commercials.
Which brings up another aspect of this whole commercial thing. I can’t handle commercials at all. I stopped watching Amazon prime video because they now have commercials and I refuse to pay the $2 or so a month they want me to pay to avoid commercials.
We’re even thinking of dumping our prime membership altogether because of this. However, it’s a challenge because it would be a little bit like biting the hand that feeds us. That is, we moved to the sticks 14 years ago in rural Kentucky and we practically live by Amazon. It’s like we still live in Seattle when it comes to our choice of things to buy.
The end of the excerpt gets to why I post on Blue sky. It’s important to me for them to see people like me out there. Frankly I’d like to see more of us on Blue sky.

One of the key concepts of advertising is “social proof”.
It is apes imitating other apes.
You show humans the desired behavior and hope they imitate it because every ad they see shows other people doing it.
Basically it is astroturfing—creating concepts and ideas out of thin air and trying to get them to take root.
Leftists run the advertising agencies—so of course they use advertising for leftist propaganda.
—
Our regional bank is a hilarious example.
In all of their advertising on every medium they show black families—mother, father, children.
That may not sound crazy—but it is.
Why? Because in this little corner of the world we have more moose families than black families with mother, father, children together.
The leftist advertiser is trying to convince all people (white, black whatever) that the black nuclear family is “normal”.
This article is conservative whining. Many conservatives have been whining about the unfairness and leftist bias of the mainstream culture since the 1960s. Whining is a losing strategy.
Amazon Prime has commercials.
I remember back in the 50’s Drive-in’s, film would be spliced to include either popcorn, hot dogs or burger frames. Unknowingly to you, you started getting hungry.
Amazon Prime has a “deal” where the consumer can pay extra to eliminate those commercials.
Blacks make up 12% of the population ,but make up 60% of TV personalities. Mixed couples are on every channel and every show.
I’m in my 60’s and have traveled some in my life time and i have never met a mixed couple. I’m not against them ,I am just saying
they must all work in the entertainment industry .
Thank goodness for DVR’s. Pause for a while then blast through commercials. One of my fav pastimes.
Your point is valid but I would word it differently.
Don’t get mad.
Get even.
Boycott as much as you can whenever you can.
Britain has even fewer blacks, but their commercials and shows are even worse.
