Whatever update corresponds to your issue most likely is the problem. But I surmise that you are using the default MS browser Edge, which also can update itself. And to see what version of Windows you are using, type winver in your Run command (Windows key and r). Note as regards blocking updates, the MS license we are required to consent to in using Windows (at least 10 and 11) requires us to accept Windows updates, at least eventually.

However, it provides the means and even the tool to prevent certain updates, thus such can be delayed, while the license does not yet forbid overcoming loss of functionality due to updates. I myself, in W/11 Pro, use Explorer Patcher (ver. 22621) to enable such lost functionality as Quick Launch bar, and multilevel Taskbar, etc., along with OpenShell start menu. See FR post here.
