I know you're a Navy man, but the National Museum of the US Air Force, Wright-Patt, Dayton, OH has an excellent display in their SE Asia section on the Wild Weasel technique. It took big brass balls to tease the enemy's SAM missile system's vulnerabilities and turn around and destroy those sites.

The Navy dealt with the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) mission a bit differently than the Air Force.

During Vietnam, this mission was undertaken by the EA-6B Prowler.

Here is a Prowler carrying an AGM-45 Shrike.
