Worked at hp u-wave components. Packaging, etc. We landed a contract with Hughs for Impatts/F16 radar. Then we lost the process. One test tech’s favorite tuning tool for waveguides was a C-clamp.
Small obstructions in waveguide act as inductors as I recall, providing a tuning device. Altering the dimensions of the rectangular guide by squeezing changes the impedance of the guide, but never messed with that.
Way too far in the mists of time now.
