Russia pushes second meeting in Istanbul, Ukraine tells Moscow to pony up ceasefire terms first.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has amassed some 50,000 troops on Ukraine’s northern border despite a united push by the U.S. and Ukraine to get Moscow to enter into "meaningful" ceasefire negotiations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday warned that Putin is preparing a massive summer offensive in a move to push Ukraine’s troops out of Russia’s Kursk region, and to launch a new invasion into Ukraine’s Sumy region – a mere 200 miles from the capital city of Kyiv.
Zelenskyy reiterated this week that he is ready to hold direct negotiations with Putin and suggested that if the Kremlin chief is uncomfortable with a bilateral meeting, a trilateral meeting could be held with President Donald Trump.
Trump on Wednesday said he would meet with both world leaders "if necessary" but the Kremlin again rejected the suggestion.
The U.S. president said he was "very disappointed" at Russia's continued bombardment of Ukraine during negotiation attempts, but he has refused to hit Putin with more sanctions, telling reporters "I think I'm close to getting a deal, I don't want to screw it up by doing that."

Petro Shuklinov Interesting Viewpoint (long)
.
This is not a “Georgian scenario”waiting for Ukraine. This is a “Ukrainian scenario”waiting for Russia. She’s finishing up her past. And in the future, it will exist in the orbit of Kiev - in every sense.
Let me explain. When I read forecasts, opinions, confident statements: Ukraine is waiting for this, Ukraine is waiting for that, Ukraine will be there, Ukraine will be here. I then say: numbers, show rough data and calculations. What’s in the budgets? What’s in the running procedures? What’s in the strategies? What’s in the markets? What’s in investment and technology?
There is the whole truth. In things that are not interesting to a wide audience.
Some clusters with the EU. Some joint arms companies with dozens of countries. Some budget forecasts and approved funding for the years. It’s not impressive.
But 50% of JPMorganChase that Ukraine is waiting for the “Georgian scenario” in 2025 sounds clickable. Suddenly what: 50% is when “maybe it will, maybe it won’t”. Cool forecast. But what is it based on? As it turned out-on the assumptions of “experts”. Mostly political.
And I look at the contracts. I look at the numbers. I look at the procedures. And before I write my own conclusions, I will only superficially list the facts for the basis of my opinion.
Norway, which provides billions of dollars in support every year, provides multibillion - dollar support by 2027. Japan, which provided us with more than.5 billion last year, is laying down support until 2034. Denmark-until 2035. And so-dozens and dozens of countries. Bilateral defense agreements have been signed with all of them.
Russia’s cold heart 300 billion assets are frozen. The logic of their use is scheduled for decades to come. A major club of the richest and most influential countries in the world has agreed that they will invest tens of billions in Ukraine annually at interest from these frozen assets. Give it to Russia? For what purpose? This is a booster for your own defense sector. Working capital for any idea.
And now - for a second step aside-where exactly will these funds go, as well as all the others that are allocated separately (also tens and tens of billions) annually.
The first and most important thing is joint ventures. German-Ukrainian. Turkish-Ukrainian. British-Ukrainian. French-Ukrainian.
Joint production of armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition and missiles, UAVs and special equipment, wheeled and tracked, joint development and production of electronic warfare, air defense and missile defense.
Again. Western allies are building a strategy and investing rough money in a common future with Ukraine and setting goals for decades to come.
Not with Ukraine, which in 2025 will follow the “Georgian scenario” and “will be in the orbit of the Russian Federation”. And with Ukraine, which will be tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and in 100 years - together with the Western world.
And again. It’s about money. A joint business is for decades. This is the planning horizon for 2030-2040 and beyond. This is about the wars and conflicts of the future. About the needs of future generations. Because all this - what has already been created and is working, what will be created-is about the arms market of the planet. Ukraine’s needs are closed in one year. And then there’s the giant, growing global trillion-dollar arms market. Everyone needs weapons - and for yesterday.
All NATO countries that have “taken” the threshold of 2% of GDP for the army (and will raise it to 5%) need weapons. Weapons are needed in the Middle East (all) and in Asia (Pakistan and India). Weapons, weapons, weapons - it sounds on every continent.
And co - production of truly effective solutions (our experience and hands, money and allied machines) is an atomic combination. Ukraine, together with its allies, already produces a lot of weapons. Then - for the whole world. This is a partnership for decades and decades to come.
The economic part (restoration of Ukraine, investment in the economy and joint projects not in terms of weapons, the agreement with the United States on minerals) - you can write about this extensive long ride. If the Russian world is here, it is a decline. If there is democracy and a Ukrainian view here, this is development.
Do you think the Germans just don’t want the North streams back? Business has already changed. The business has already reoriented itself. Where Russia was, now Norway and the United States, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Or let’s talk about sanctions. Do you know what sanctions are? It is not that we take and refuse fertilizers from Russia. This is so that we find a solution to replace Russia - and then ban it.
In other words, other businesses are taking the place of Russian business.
Every package of EU sanctions is about buried industries that made money from the EU.
Diamonds? Oil? Gas? Fertilizer? Steel? Chemicals? Coal? Food? Caviar? Package by package, one business is replaced by another. A year, two, three-and that’s it. The niche is occupied. The contracts have been signed. LNG terminals are built. Energy independence is guaranteed.
That’s it, Goodbye, Russia. And we will forbid you to sell something to Asia with secondary sanctions. And the technological backlog is increasing every year. And this leads to the fact that in 10 years in the world, the Russian product loses the last battle for competition.
On the other hand, what is our rearmament?
Ukraine’s transition to Western armament. In every sense, this is a defensive binding based on money, and not just “kindred spirits”, “saving poor Ukrainians” and other emotions. These are not emotions. You bought a Western tank-you will buy spare parts for it. And shells to it. And maintenance tools. And build a joint venture. And so on, and so on, and so on. Are we on Western arms? We’re on the Western Armory train.
Add to this €150 billion [Euros] for the rearmament of Europe. Perhaps they will do this together with Russia? Very funny. The West is already doing this together with Ukraine.
Further clusters with the EU and integration into the European legal, economic, cultural, social and political space. This is a systematic work that lasts for years (integration into the EU). We got to the finish line.
And this is not something that is done just like that, or for a good mood. This is about the foundation of the state’s existence. It’s about everything in general-even how you’ll pay utility bills, or how we’ll all cross the road. And, of course, how the business will function and by what rules it will live. Or how the judicial and law enforcement systems will function.
This is not a game of reform - it is a scrapping of consciousness. And we are now flying into it on a rocket. But because of the war, we don’t feel any shocks at all, because bombs fall on our heads - that we need those new labels, The Color of traffic lights or some kind of reform.
To list everything, you need to write a longway. I won’t. Just to note: Ukraine-2000 and now Ukraine-2025-30 could not exist in the same space. These are different countries.
But the key idea behind EU integration is that changes are irreversible. The country is gradually changing and will change beyond recognition.
However, for everyone who will be inside, the changes will be almost invisible. Somewhere around the same time, you don’t see changes in a person’s appearance if you see them every day. Let’s say, for example, about the CAA to a person since 2000. This is just one example that illustrates the abyss.
The principles of Ukraine’s existence, fundamental things are changing right now. Even starting with the attitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is now the elite. Although there are a lot of problems in general and they require our efforts to solve them - as always, as in the future - but it is no longer possible to imagine a Russian version of the country’s existence.
The facts and figures are indisputable.
Let’s be geopolitical. The European Union is literally dragging us into its space. And multi-billion-dollar investments, reforms, and rules. Not to let them go to the “Georgian scenario” tomorrow.
We are up to our ears in Europe at the level of procedures, strategies and changes. This path cannot be stopped. This requires at least 300 votes in the Rada and a bloody pro-Russian Revolution with millions of people who want to join the “Russian World”. Have you imagined this? 226 votes for Russian-Ukrainian friendship, Moscow? For example?
Next - ratings of politicians in Ukraine. I’m not even talking about voters ‘ sympathy for a particular geopolitical Model (West VS Russia). Just tell me, please, which of the top three or even five favorites in the presidential or party ratings supports the idea that Ukraine should become a satellite of Russia? At least a hint in this direction. Well, at least for the Russian language.
This idea is dead. Hundreds of thousands of dead. This is not Georgia. Every Ukrainian has lost someone. This is an existential story. And it is just beginning, if we talk about the Ukrainization of society.
In every sense and at all levels, Ukraine is integrating into the West. Irrevocably. This is obvious even to the Republican Party in the United States, which is pushing the most pro-Russian president in its modern history to put pressure on Moscow.
This is obvious to politicians in the European Union. For voters in the European Union who absolutely support Ukraine in everything - including weapons and integration.
And this, in fact, is obvious even for Russia, which lost the war for Ukraine in the first month of the invasion.
Everything that happened next and is happening now is a big bloody performance by Putin. The world is forced to play it. Because simply bombing the Moscow region is not an option. However, everyone understands that the Russian dictator is a loser. Bloody, ruthless, but a loser.
Ukraine is integrating with the West at all levels. Tens of billions are being invested in Ukraine and joint activities are planned for decades to come. Ukraine is being integrated into the Western Family in every sense. And there can no longer be any “Georgian” or “Moscow” scenario.
And what can really happen is the economic collapse of Russia. We-all together-are taking our dear eastern cannibal partners there. Let Moscow city still glow with lights right now. Let the Russian invaders drink vodka and shout “raseya”in the restaurants of Crimea right now. Let now there are a lot of rubles, and the toilets from Bucha warm the R soul (they have it there).
The main thing is not that. And where they invest their money. What money believes in. Where they see prospects. Where they build a strategy for decades to come.
No one invests in Russia. No one invests life in this principle. Russia is “loved” exclusively for money. And they suffer solely because of the nuclear bomb.
And if we talk about emotions. When the president of Ukraine enters the Hall (forget about surnames, we are talking about the Institute), Western leaders give a standing ovation.
Because we broke the tyrant’s spine.
Ukraine is the frontier of the West. With us, with us and through us, the future of the entire continent is being laid and formed.
Together with the most influential countries in Europe, we are building a big house - strong and rich.
And we, Europe, will no longer be a passive victim. We won’t (next time) just watch the sovereignty parade when the Barbarian empire starts to disintegrate. We will definitely, definitely help young Republics find their place in the world - according to the “Ukrainian scenario”.
All the facts, figures and Procedures indicate that it is Russia that is waiting for a collapse. This monster exists only on fear and money. Sooner or later, either one or the other will become less. And we’ll be ready to take everything we have.
In February 2022, this scenario began to be written in Kiev and along the entire contact line.
In May 2025, it is already being written together with Berlin, London and Paris.
There will be no Russia. It won’t exist. They invest in Ukraine as in the future. Russia is eating up its past.
Russia is a patient who cannot be helped. The patient is disconnected from artificial life support.
Russia is a building on a rotten foundation. The building is surrounded by a fence, explosives are laid and safely demolished.
Gradually - as planned, step by step-this is being implemented. Because the whole West wants it. And no one can stop this process - neither Orban (Hungarian Prime Minister), nor Călin Georgescu (Romanian politician), nor President Trump.”

It’s interesting that you don’t care about America near as much as you do the corrupt crap hole aka, Ukraine.
You’ve been on this site shilling nonstop for their government since 2014.
>>>>Fascinating Interview *Note date November 22 2023<<<<
The “Fascinating Interview” you posted took place nearly 17 months ago when your favorite president, Biden, was still in office.
Things have changed since then.
Poor Putin. Everything he was afraid of before his invasion and he supposedly was trying to prevent by invading Ukraine is coming true BECAUSE of his invasion! D’oh! Hahaha….
Say what you will, but NATO was dormant and decaying and no threat at all to anyone, let alone Russia. Even Trump himself couldn’t coerce, threaten or cajole the other NATO members into fiscal compliance. They weren’t interested.
But thanks to Vladdy’s invasion, NATO has been given a new life and new members, too! Yep, Vlad did that!
Before Vlad’s invasion, Russia was finally becoming a part of the world and Russians were free to be anywhere they wanted to be, do whatever they wanted to do, even here in their former enemy’s home, the United States of America.
All that’s gone now. And, yes, Vlad did that, too. He killed all that good will the same as he is killing all those Russians and Ukrainians each and every day.
I’m sure a lot of those Russians love him almost as much as the Ukrainians do.
And those poor Russians make damn sure to tell Vlad how much they love him, too, or he will teach them how to fly without an airplane. Vlad definitely does that!
“That’s a good read! The words are important, but the spirit behind them is what is most captivating for me. Let freedom ring!
Poor Putin. Everything he was afraid of before his invasion and he supposedly was trying to prevent by invading Ukraine is coming true BECAUSE of his invasion! D’oh! Hahaha….”
