“A Texas Republican lawmaker, Candy Noble, has been roasted by one of her Democratic counterparts for passing what’s become known as the “Ten Commandments” bill on the Sabbath.”
Not to put too fine a point on it but Sunday is not the Sabbath.
Sunday is the first day of the week, not the seventh.

Agree. Is there a text where God edited the 10 commandments and transferred what he made holy in Genesis, the 7th day, to the 1st day? I cannot seem to find that text where God or Jesus, (same thing) transferred the solemnity of the seventh day to the first day? And a lunch don’t count.
Asking for a friend. Thank you.
That is correct. Christians do not celebrate the Sabbath, since it was given by God to Jews as part of their religious ceremonial law, not binding on anybody but the Jews. The other nine commandments are in accord with the natural law and so are binding on all men for all time. The principle of keeping a day holy to God is still binding on all men, but it is not required to be the Jewish Sabbath. Christians from the first days of the Church thus established the Lords Day (Sunday) to satisfy this commandment.
