Most summaries of the BBB that I have seen never get to the important subject of subsidies for so-called “green” energy — wind turbines, solar arrays, grid-scale batteries, hydrogen production, and so forth.

Indeed. It's curious. /s I would only change,

NEARLY ALL Most summaries of the BBB that I have seen never get to the important subject of subsidies for so-called “green” energy — wind turbines, solar arrays, grid-scale batteries, hydrogen production, and so forth.

Once again I will ask...
How many pages is this big, beautiful bill?
Do we have to pass it to see what is in it?

I am certain the corn ethanol boondoggle is untouched, particularly with powerful members of Congress, like Senate Leader John Thune, having been given lavish campaign contributions for years from the ethanol lobby

Can someone clarify why we are doing a big beautiful bill, with so many things in it? Is it because doing so avoids the filibuster in the Senate? And this bill can go through the reconciliation process?

There seem to be real concerns about some things in the bill, and some issues not addressed.

But if passing individual bills on individual subjects would be tough due to facing a filibuster, that would explain a lot.

I must admit I’m not up on the latest with how the Senate parliamentarian apparently has some veto power over what can go to reconciliation and pass with a simple majority, as opposed to what bills are subject to a Senate filibuster.

Here are just four of the solar credits that will be phased out:

Terminate the 30% Residential Solar Tax Credit (ITC): The bill would end the ITC by December 31, 2025, ahead of its previously scheduled expiration in 2034.
Eliminate Tax Credits for Leased Solar Systems: The bill would remove eligibility for tax credits on leased residential solar systems.
Accelerate Phase-Out of Business Tax Credits: Commercial solar projects would have to begin construction within 60 days of the bill’s enactment and be completed by the end of 2028 to qualify for tax credits.
Remove Transferability of Manufacturing Tax Credits: The legislation would eliminate the ability to transfer certain manufacturing tax credits.

If you want the government to help pay for your (inflated) solar cell construction, better have it energized by Dec 31. If a business, better get those permits fast.

I like the idea of individual solar generation, but all the sales people did while the 30% rebate was in effect was to increase their prices 30% ...

Here is the last sentence of this big bill:

SEC. 113001. MODIFICATION OF LIMITATION ON THE PUBLIC DEBT.
The limitation under section 3101(b) of title 31, United States Code, as most recently increased by section 401(b) of Public Law 118-5 (31 U.S.C. 3101 note), is increased by $4,000,000,000,000.
