If BO can continue with successful testing/launches and more importantly stay on schedule. BO should be an integral part of the moon-based programs. These will be to compete with the Chinese for a permanent moon base. BO has little to offer in exo-moon missions.

SpaceX has little need for a moon stepping-stone to Mars if they are successful in an orbital refueler.

Yup, sending the Starship to the Moon first is really just part of system development and testing, practice for the envisioned routine working system. It'll still be an awesome system for lunar missions.
